Who we are
Clearr is a trading name of Kingsbury Consulting Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16148652, registered office 10 Potovens Close, Wakefield, England, WF1 2FY. ICO registration ZC122747. Kingsbury Consulting Ltd is the data controller. Contact: privacy@clearr.org.uk.
What we collect and why
Account data (email and password, or a passphrase-derived identifier with no email): to let you sign in. If you sign up with an email we send it one message to confirm it, and after that only a password reset link when you ask for one. Nothing else is emailed. Lawful basis: contract.
Billing reference (a Stripe customer and subscription ID; no card data): to run your membership. Lawful basis: contract.
Your space (assessment answers, module progress, log entries, written entries, settings), stored against a random key: to provide the service. Because of what this data can reveal, we treat it as special category data and rely on your explicit consent, given when you create your space and withdrawable at any time by deleting it.
Requests for free access (that your account asked, when, and what we decided): to give you free membership. We collect no reason and no proof. Lawful basis: contract.
Enquiries from organisations (the name, work email, organisation, role and area you give us on the For organisations page): to reply about access codes. Lawful basis: legitimate interests. Closed enquiries are deleted after a year.
Anonymous aggregates (sign-ups per week, cancellation reasons without identifiers): to run the service. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
What we do not collect
Your name, your partner's name, address, date of birth, IP address beyond short-lived abuse protection, device fingerprints, or any advertising or analytics identifiers.
Encryption and access
Written entries are encrypted per member; staff cannot read them. Access to the database is restricted to the service itself and named administrators, logged.
Where
Supabase (database, London), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), Resend (the confirmation and reset emails, sent from Ireland). Transfers outside the UK are covered by the UK adequacy regulations for the EU and, for Stripe, Vercel and Resend, the UK IDTA / Addendum.
Retention
Your space is kept while your account exists and for 12 months after a membership ends unless you delete it sooner. Deletion is immediate and complete. Backups expire within 30 days. Anonymous aggregates are kept indefinitely.
Your rights
Access, portability (export from your account page), rectification, erasure (delete from your account page), restriction, objection, and the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effect; your profile is a reflective reading you can change at any time.
Children
Clearr is for adults. We do not knowingly create spaces for anyone under 18.
Changes
We will date changes here and, for significant ones, show a notice on your account page. We will not email you about them unless you have a confirmed safe email and have opted in.
